| Community Programs | |||||||||||||
| Our community programs are based in our Keswick and Markham locations, and are also available at a variety of other sites throughout York Region. | |||||||||||||
| Outreach: This is a community based support and referral program primarily serving women and their children who are not currently using our residential programs. We provide group and individual support, referral services, safety planning, homework clubs for children, liaison with schools as requested. We also provide public education on violence against women, and are pleased to attend speaking engagements to promote an awareness of this issue. |

Let’s Talk: Assistance with transportation and child care for siblings is provided for participants of this program. |
|||||||||||||
| Transition: Staff in this program offer individual practical assistance to women choosing to transition towards a violence free life. Woman may be living in their home, or staying at our shelter or second stage apartments. We provide court support and accompaniment, safety planning, assistance with searching for and maintaining permanent housing, employment information, and referrals to other community based helping agencies. We also help with your interactions and understanding of other organizations or systems such as immigration, schools, police, Children’s Aid Society. |
